SymbolFest.com is a parody art experiment event and website. All images, words, creative print materials, public people, places, businesses and objects contained within, however identical to real life, should be assumed to be a part of this parody art experiment and website. SymbolFest.com was created in honor of a public art sculpture, located along the Sinnissippi bike path in Rockford, IL. Its creative intents were / are to cause a positive, entertaining public reaction, communication, along with raising community and cultural interests for an event that currently does not exist in the Rockford, IL, area. Like all ideas and products manufactured with artistic intents, good or bad, SymbolFest.com was created to cause a communal, emotional reaction, good or bad.
Fair Use Notice
SymbolFest.com contains copyrighted material in which the use of public figures, businesses and celebrities names combined with fictitious names that have not been authorized by the copyright owner. We are making such material available in an effort to parody in a manner that entertains visitors of our site. We believe this constitutes a ‘fair use’ of any such copyrighted material as provided for in section 107 of the US Copyright Law. In accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. Section 107, the material on this site is distributed without profit to those who have expressed a prior interest in receiving the included information for satire and entertainment purposes. If you or your organization wishes to file a copyright review for the cease and desist of copyrighted material that has been shared on SymbolFest.com in a satirical manner, please contact us. We will review all requests and work with you to edit, repost, or terminate copyrighted materials we’ve posted on SymbolFest.com for parody, satire and entertainment purposes.
No Collection of Personal Data from Children under 13.
We recognize the need to provide additional privacy protections for the Personal Data of children under 13. The Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (“COPPA”) requires general audience website operators to obtain a parent’s prior consent if they are knowingly collecting, using or disclosing any Personal Data from a child under 13. Symbol Fest website is not directed to or intended to be used by children under 13 (or under 18 for that matter), and SymbolFest.com does not knowingly collect, use or disclose any Personal Data from children under 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. Personal Data Collected.
The only Personal Data SymbolFest currently collects through SymbolFest.com is the Personal Data that you voluntarily provide to SymbolFest. For example, all visitors of SymbolFest.com who wish to receive free tickets to the fictitious event that is satirically promoted on SymbolFest.com must voluntarily fill out a form to receive parody related information from SymbolFest's website. To submit a form inquiry, you must enter Personal Data, such as your full name and email address. Users voluntarily enter Personal Data, such as full name, address, phone number, email address is they wish to personally contact SymbolFest.
Other data that does not qualify as Personal Data because it cannot be used to contact or identify you (“Non-Personal Data”) may also be collected when a user participates in certain features of the SymbolFest website form, i.e., the "Comments" form field, or may be automatically collected about you from your internet provider and our mail server provider..
For example, SymbolFest uses technology and analytics to automatically collect Non-Personal Data about the use of the SymbolFest website. This technology is used to track things like how many users access the SymbolFest website, the date and time of their visits, the length of their stays, and which pages they view. SymbolFest may also use technology to determine which web browsers users use and the address from which they accessed the Websites. The information collected using this technology does not identify any user personally and is thus all Non-Personal Data that simply enables SymbolFest to compile statistics about users and their use of the SymbolFest website.
SymbolFest uses this Non-Personal Data and may share it with third parties to improve the content and functionality of the SymbolFest website, to better understand our customers and markets, and to improve our products and services. We may also use this information to provide you with targeted advertising, so that the advertisements you may see on SymbolFest's website are of more interest to you, if SymbolFest chooses to advertise 3rd parties on its website.

We may use session-ID cookies to confirm that users are logged in if a user is required to. These cookies would terminate once the user closes the web browser. We may also use persistent cookies that store certain Personal Data you already provided to us to make it easier for you to log back in to SymbolFest's website or access your shopping cart (which is not implemented, nor is planned to be installed, into the SymbolFest website as of April 15th, 2015.) Use of Personal Data Collected.
SymbolFest uses the Personal Data collected on the Websites to provide you with the requested services and to reply to you. If you enter Personal Data to request free fictitious tickets for a parody event, for example, that Personal Data will be used to send you free parody tickets via the email address and information you provided.
SymbolFest's website may also use the Personal Data to contact you for a variety of reasons, such as but not limited to notifying you about additional upcoming parody events, offering you additional tickets, or requesting your feedback on SymbolFest's website. If you wish to opt-out of these contacts, you can let us know by contacting us at email@example.com. Even if you opt-out of certain contacts, SymbolFest may still contact you about any problems or issues with your SymbolFest.com experience.
Disclosure of Personal Data Collected.
SymbolFest may disclose Personal Data to third parties when (a) it is reasonably necessary to provide you with the Services, (b) you have authorized the disclosure, or (c) if required or authorized to do so by law.
For example, when you choose to voluntarily fill out a form requesting fictional tickets for a parody event from SymbolFest website, it is necessary for SymbolFest’s website to disclose the information to other administrators of SymbolFest's website. Without disclosure of this information, no one could contact you to fulfill your free ticket requests, site inquiries and additional comments. Any User Content (as defined in the Terms of Service) you post about SymbolFest.com's website and parody event will also be available to other users. .
SymbolFest website may will not disclose Personal Data to its affiliates, contractors and partners. Your information that is voluntarily provided on SymbolFest's website form will not be sold or used for commercial profitable purposes.
SymbolFest may also disclose your Personal Data if required or authorized to do so by law.
SymbolFest website uses industry standard security measures to protect your Personal Data. While such security measures provide reasonable protections against unauthorized access, they provide no guarantee that your Personal Data will not be compromised.
